Organiser

With the ORGANISER you can keep track of all your subnets and hosts.
The above screenshots show (from left to right):

  1. The main screen when the app starts showing the subnet 0.0.0.0/0 (i.e. all IPs). The way the organiser is laid out is such that you drill down into subnets to define many levels of sub-subnets. In this way you can keep track of the usage of your main netblocks. So to do anything within a subnet, you must tap on the “Actions” button.
  2. Now you can select an action. These are as follows:
    • Add Subnet – Add a subnet which is a child of the current subnet
    • Add Host – Add a host to the current subnet
    • Split Subnet – Split the current subnet completely, into smaller subnets
  3. Adding a subnet gives a screen with a scrollable picker to enable you to choose the network IP and CIDR subnet mask of the desired subnet. You can also give the subnet a name here. Tapping “Save” will save the details and take you back to the organiser view.
  4. Splitting a subnet brings up a scrollable picker enabling you to choose the CIDR mask of the subnets to create under the current subnet. Tapping “Save” will perform the split and take you back to the organiser view.
  5. Having split the subnet, you will now have sub-subnets which are displayed.
6_Subnet Details 7_Add Host List 8_Add Host 9_After Add Host List 10_Subnet at End
  1. Tapping on the blue arrow on a subnet row will give you the detailed information about a subnet, including the ability to edit the name and save the details.
  2. Adding a host brings up a list of all the available hosts in the current subnet. If a subnet has a red cross next to it, then it is currently not in use whereas if it has a green tick next to it then it is in use.
  3. Tapping on a host in the list brings up a view allowing you to enter details about this host. Tapping “Save” will save the details and take you back to the host list.
  4. Now that a host is added, a green check mark appears next to the host. Tapping this row would take you to a view enabling you to edit the details of this host.
  5. Viewing the organiser now shows the sub-subnets and hosts associated with the current subnet. Swiping over any row will delete that row from the database.

Finder (Aggregator)

11_Finder 12_Finder Calculation
The FINDER (or aggregator) provides the ability to supply a list of IP addresses which Subnet Calc Pro will then use to find the smallest subnet which encompases all of these addresses. It is simple to use – you add IPs to the list and then tap “Go”. This will bring up a calculator with the details set to the aggregate calculation.

Calculator

13_Calculator Dec 14_Calculator Bin 15_Calculator Hex
The CALCULATOR is a simple subnet calculator which, like anywhere in the application where you see subnet details, can show the addresses in decimal, binary and hexadecimal format.

Other Features

16_Settings 17_Email Export 1 18_Email Export 2
It is possible to export all details about subnets and hosts from Subnet Calc Pro by email. Simply tap on “Email Data Export” and all data will be put into an email ready to send whereever you want.
